A company out of Omaha, Nebraska, wants to help the city of Two Rivers maintain its power supply.
At tonight’s (February 5th) regular council meeting, Tenaska will give a presentation to the council asking to build a battery storage facility along the Woodland Industrial Park.
After speaking to different representatives, Seehafer News has learned they see the lakeshore area as a place where clean energy can thrive, and this facility can help if something like a major storm moves in and causes a loss of power.
According to Tenaska’s website, batteries can capture excess generation during periods of low electric demand and can store the unused energy and discharge it back into the grid if there is a lot of electricity use as well.
The Two Rivers Council Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall.
