A Manitowoc man is pleading not guilty in his reckless homicide case.
37-year-old Christopher Ducat was back in Judge Mark Roher’s courtroom last Thursday.
He’s been charged with 1st-degree reckless homicide, manufacturing, and delivery of a Schedule I and II narcotic, and manufacturing and delivery of an amphetamine.
He was charged after Manitowoc police were called to an apartment on the city’s southside in July on the report of an unconscious individual who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A search of the apartment revealed fentanyl, which was used by the victim.
Police say an investigation concluded that Ducat and the victim had communicated with each other just before the victim was found dead, warning him that people were overdosing on the drugs that Ducat allegedly gave out.
Ducat will be back in court on March 1st for further proceedings.
