A man deemed responsible for starting storage units on fire in Green Bay has been sentenced.
According to a report by WBAY TV, 58-year-old Thomas Smith was ordered to spend a total of nine years in prison, followed by four years of extended supervision for the 2021 incident.
Smith was charged with five counts of arson, two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of resisting an officer, and one count of being in possession of burglarious tools after he stole from the storage units and then set them on fire.
In total, 33 units at Lok-Safe on Stiles Road in Green Bay were destroyed, causing an estimated $400,000 in damage.
