A 32-year-old Manitowoc man accused of abusing his girlfriend for seven years appeared for a bail hearing Thursday afternoon.
Jeffrey J. Nord has been charged with three counts, each of Simple Battery and Felony Bail Jumping.
Police met with the victim and a friend recently, claiming Nord abused her throughout their relationship, including three times since January 29th, resulting in visible injuries that are documented with photographs.
The last of these occurred on Super Bowl Sunday (February 11th), when she had asked Nord to stop looking at his phone.
This led to a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical confrontation, with Nord pushing the victim to the ground.
Police are also investigating if Nord broke the law by being a part of several Facebook groups dedicated to viewing photos of children.
It was noted that none of the photos were sexual in nature.
Nord remains in The County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond, with the lone condition of bail being that he has “no contact” with the victim.
His initial appearance is this Monday (February 19th) at 1:30.
