Two Fox Valley women are in trouble after allegedly being caught in Fond du Lac County with what could be fentanyl-laced pills.
Fond du Lac County Sheriffs say that during a traffic stop, a K9 handler searched for a vehicle because there were several indicators of drug activity, and the owner of the vehicle consented to the search.
During the search, a single blue M-30 pill was found and labeled oxycodone; however, due to the trend of increase in counterfeit prescriptions, it was believed the pill was fentanyl-pressed.
The 26-year-old woman from Appleton and a 25-year-old woman from Menasha were arrested and taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
Once at the jail, correctional staff allegedly found a significant amount of counterfeit oxycodone pills on the 26-year-old woman.
The suspected pills weighed 174 grams and were packed in various smaller baggies.
Because of how much is weighted, it was determined that there were about 1,500 pills in total.
Sheriffs also said that laboratory testing indicates seven of every ten pills seized by the Drug Enforcement Administration contains a lethal dose of fentanyl and reminds everyone that you shouldn’t accept pills from a friend and only consume medications prescribed by you through a pharmacy.
