The show, licensed by Concord Theatricals, offers a one-hour adaptation of the iconic film musical designed for youth.
The story follows Ren and his mother as they move to a conservative farming town in Chicago, where he faces unexpected challenges, including a dance ban enforced by the local pastor.
The plot thickens when the pastor’s defiant daughter takes an interest in Ren, leading to a cascade of events that tests his reputation.
At its core, the musical explores themes of loss, rebellion, and acceptance as a father mourns his son and a young man seeks a new beginning.
