Lakeland University is getting some grant money for scholars and programs.
The Kohler Trust for the Arts and Education has given the college $540,000 to fund several student-centered programs and initiatives.
The Kohler Teaching Scholars use some of the money to award a $5,000 scholarship to three incoming first-year students.
The grant money will also be used to support the Sheboygan County Scholars program while also supporting the Lakeland Promise Program, which provides students an opportunity to attend college tuition and fee-free for up to four years.
The new lighting system at the Bradley Theater will improve the experience for Lakeland’s various music ensembles and theater productions.
