January’s blizzard in Manitowoc County was a bit of a costly one.
County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program last week that the county spent almost $600,000 plowing the county roads.
Even though the blizzard wasn’t cheap, Ziegelbauer says the County Highway Department’s budget has enough money in it and they will continue to save for the next one.
He also credits the county and city workers for their hard work clearing the snow.
There was also a lot of overtime paid out.
The county also got some reimbursement from the state.
