The city of Manitowoc continuing to move forward with the River Point District.
The Common Council approved recommending awarding a base bid of about $1.3 million to Vinton Construction on continuing to get the land ready for private development west of 10th Street along the Manitowoc River.
Community Development Director Adam Tegan says the project includes extending River Point Drive, adding utilities for River Point Drive, and adding additional clean fill. They will be extending Chicago Street.
Tegan says there are three offers to purchase land on the new development.
The area used to be known as the CN Peninsula but was changed about three years ago.
The city purchased the land in 2019 for $800,000.
