A bill adding some provisions for those with physical injuries has passed the Wisconsin Assembly.
The bill authored by Manitowoc Assemblyman Paul Tittl says the first part included passing a grant program for spinal cord injury research and programs, including a spinal cord injury council, which will set criteria for awarding of grants.
The council will also review and recommend grant applications.
The second part includes allowing physical therapists to make certifications for acquiring disabled parking plates and cards.
Tittl says patients can apply for disabled parking tags without having to go to another medical professional to do so because physical therapists have the training to be able to make these kinds of determinations.
The bills still need to clear the Wisconsin Senate before Governor Tony Evers could sign the bill into law.
