A police pursuit in Fond du Lac led to the arrest of a repeat offender from Green Bay.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies tried to pull over a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 41 and Highway 151 in the town of Fond du Lac.
But instead of stopping, the 22-year-old driver in the fleeing vehicle increased his speed and tried to get away from the deputies.
The vehicle would then exit at Hickory Street, get back on I-41, and then pretend to exit again, but instead continued on the interstate.
After stop sticks were unsuccessfully used to stop the man, the suspect exited the interstate on County Highway N but couldn’t hold on and crashed his car in a north ditch.
After a brief foot pursuit, the man was arrested.
He was charged with vehicle operator flee and elude, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance, and he had a hold through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
No one was hurt during the pursuit.
