The trial is underway for a Green Bay man accused of killing two women at a duplex last year.
According to WFRV TV, Rhonda Cegelski and Paula O’Connor were found dead inside the duplex, and 49-year-old Richard Sotka was immediately picked as a person of interest because he was dating Cegelski.
After being arrested in Arkansas, he was brought back to Wisconsin.
According to the criminal complaint, Sotka got out of the shower on the day of the incident and saw the women in a “compromising position,” and he allegedly told authorities, “I’m guilty of killing the girls.”
On the first day of the trial, prosecutors stated that Sotka’s statement would prove he was guilty, while the defense said prosecutors had to prove the cause of death was with the intent to kill.
His trial will go on for eight days.
