A woman is being hit with drug charges after ending up on the curb near the Festival Foods, even though she didn’t know how it happened.
Manitowoc Police were first called Tuesday evening around 11 pm to the Kwik Trip on 42nd Street for a car driving erratically, but then a second call said a Jeep was on the curb of the Festival Foods.
When police asked the woman how she ended up on the curb, she said she didn’t know but was on her way home from work.
The officer noticed that the woman’s pupils were constricted, but she said she didn’t use any illegal drugs and was only taking a prescription.
After she was asked to exit the Jeep, a police K9 hit alerted on the vehicle’s exterior, and police started to search.
They say they found a black zip-up pouch on the floor, two needles, a tourniquet, a tin, a black case containing white powder, and a receipt wrapped inside aluminum foil containing white powder.
The woman said it was “dope” but believed it was heroin. She was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic.
