A 27-year-old Manitowoc woman was taken into custody early Monday morning for driving 20-plus miles per hour over the posted speed limit. Bail is $500 cash.
Cheyanne N.F. Johnson has been officially charged with OWI-Second offense and Three counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Police pulled over a minivan driven by Johnson for driving 58 miles per hour in a 35-mph posted zone.
It turned out that the police had taken her home earlier Sunday night as she had been under the influence of alcohol.
Johnson smelled of intoxicants this time as well, and she was placed under arrest. After originally being uncooperative, Johnson took a field sobriety test, which she failed.
The lone condition of bail is that Johnson maintains “absolute sobriety,” and her initial court appearance is scheduled for March 18th at 9:30 a.m.
