Soon, inmates at the Manitowoc County Jail will not be able to physically receive any non-legal or personal mail.
Inmates will still get their mail, just in a different way.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says that starting April 1st, those looking to send a letter or any other form of personal mail to an inmate will need to address it:
Once it is received, the Cidnet/TextBehind Digital Mail Center will digitally scan it, and the inmate will be able to view it electronically.
Any legal mail, soft-covered books, magazines, or newspapers sent through a third-party vendor, as well as money orders, payroll checks, cashier checks, and cash, will still be accepted at the jail.
If any personal letters are sent with the money, the entire envelope will be returned to the sender.
Any questions can be directed to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office.
