The search for Elijah Vue is nearing the start of its fifth week.
Since the 3-year-old disappeared on February 20th, hundreds if not thousands of people have converged in Two Rivers to aid in the search, with additional searches happening in Manitowoc, Green Bay, and Wisconsin Dells, where his mother, Katrina Baur, resides.
Residents of Two Rivers have aided immensely, with Two Rivers Police Captain Andrew Raatz reporting on Friday that local officers, with help from the State’s Division of Criminal Investigation and the FBI, are combing through “large amounts of video footage” related to the case.
Captain Raatz encouraged people to keep up the search effort, asking people to safely check “local recreation areas, as well as rivers, ponds, and waterways.”
There are two court dates scheduled for this week in connection to the case.
Elijah’s mother, Katrina, is due for her arraignment this Friday at 4:00 p.m., where she is expected to be formally charged with the felony charge of Chronic Neglect of a Child, as well as the misdemeanor charges of Neglecting a Child two counts of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
Jesse Vang, who was caring for Elijah at the time, will try to have his preliminary hearing again on Thursday, as a public defender was yet to be found as of last word.
