A 41-year-old Manitowoc man who was taken into custody early last Friday morning following a tense standoff is free on a $1,000 recognizance bond.
Larry D. Smith was also ordered during his bail hearing Monday afternoon to have “no contact” with the residence and maintain “absolute sobriety.”
Manitowoc Police responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Hamilton Street for the report of a family disturbance.
A perimeter was established around the residence after it appeared that Smith was standing outside with a firearm.
Initial commands given to Smith to surrender were ignored, so an armored Bearcat vehicle was summoned.
He eventually surrendered and was officially charged with Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence enhancer and two counts of Misdemeanor Jumping.
Smith is due back in court for an initial appearance on April 11th.
