The Mishicot Softball team has started their season strong with a record of 3-0 as they look to earn the village another state title.
The squad took down Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Monday 17-1.
Senior first baseman Katelynn Callahan was a part of the 2021 team that brought home gold and has been in the sport all four years of her high school career.
She tells Seehafer News that over her career, she has found an undeniable passion for competing.
“The fast-paced environment and the energy of the game,” she said, was her favorite part of the sport. “Any moment the game can change and the momentum of it is super fun”.
Junior Kaelin Adair highlighted how the team’s common goal is a big reason why she believes the team has been so successful.
“We all want to win,” she said. We all play softball outside of Mishicot, so it’s very competitive. We have a lot of girls who want to play in college or are going to play in college, so having that drive is really nice.”
The Indians and Resorters will have a rematch on Thursday in Mishicot.
