A 30-year-old Manitowoc man faces multiple charges after breaking into a residence and threatening to kill some of them.
Charges against Brandon M. LeClair include Battery, Strangulation and Suffocation, Burglary, First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Criminal Damage to Property, and False Imprisonment.
Police responded to a call at a home early Sunday morning with the two residents saying they were sleeping when LeClair allegedly swung the door open while holding a kitchen knife, demanding they get against the wall, threatening to decapitate one of them.
LeClair allegedly continued stabbing through the door, threatening to kill everyone so there wouldn’t be any witnesses.
A call was made to 911, leading LeClair to leave the home. He then allegedly tried gaining entrance into a home on South 16th Street, where police found LeClair in a shed on that property.
No motive was given other than one of the victims stated that they knew Le Clair because he had been going through a divorce.
He was taken into custody without further incident and remains in The Manitowoc County Jail, with bail set at $25,000 Tuesday afternoon.
Conditions include that LeClair maintains “absolute sobriety” and that he has “no contact” with any of the victims, including where they are at the present time and/or at their residence.
His initial appearance is scheduled for May 6th at 1:30.
