As the weather continues to warm up, those with green thumbs are getting ready to get their hands in the dirt and start planting seeds.
During a recent episode of WOMT’s Cultivating Community program, Grow it Forward Owner Amber Daugs explained that typically, those with gardens should have their seeds in the ground sometime around Mother’s Day, which is next weekend.
If you planned on utilizing the Community Garden on Manitowoc’s South 14th Street, Daugs explained they have changed up their programming.
“We don’t rent individual garden plots anymore,” she explained. “What we do is we manage that entire plot for growing food for people in need. All of that produce comes back into our food pantry community meal program, and we share it with our partners.”
