Amy E. Waack, age 39, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life at her home while surrounded by her parents and Walter, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 following a short battle with Sarcoma cancer.
Amy was born on August 8, 1984 in Manitowoc to Leroy and Barbara (Endries) Waack. She graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School with the class of 2003. Amy most recently worked at WST Fab in Rockwood as a materials handler. WST is where she met her boyfriend, Walter McGrew, who made her very happy for the last couple years. Prior to that, Amy was a critical care paramedic in Southern Wisconsin. She found her love of emergency care when she was a member of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department and Newton First Responders.
Survivors include Amy’s parents, Leroy and Barbara Waack; boyfriend, Walter McGrew, Manitowoc; two siblings, Andy (Jenny) Waack, Manitowoc; and Jess (Brent) Barbuch, Dundee; niece, Addison Waack; nephew and godson, Lane Barbuch; aunts and uncles: Kathy Hardrath, Karen (Dennis) Wernecke, Karol Waack, Pete (Kathy) Endries, Mike (Dawn) Endries, Dave Endries, and Kris Groening; five fur babies, Stryker, Kendrick, Scootie, Oscar and Wolfie; also many cousins, other family and friends. Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Leroy (Theresa) Waack and Delores (Lloyd) Wernecke; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and June Endries; and uncle, John Hardrath.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc. Rev. Micah Martin will officiate with burial to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. A luncheon will then be held at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran School. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. The visitation will continue on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. John’s Ev.
