The Mishicot Indians fell to The Laconia Spartans by the score of 3 to 2 in a WIAA Division Three State Semifinal Softball game Friday morning in Madison.
The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first inning as first baseman Katelyn Callahan tripled with one out and second baseman Cora Stodola drove her in to make it 1 to nothing Mishicot.
It stayed that way until the bottom of the sixth inning when Indians shortstop Kaelin Adair led off the inning with her first homerun of the season to make it 2 to nothing Mishicot.
The Indians were a strike away from victory, when a throwing error kept the top of the seventh inning alive.
Laconia’s Kelsey Plum tied the game at 2 with a 2-run double and Addison Mauer knocked her in with a base hit to grab a 3 to 2 lead.
Mishicot’s Katelyn Callahan, who concluded her career with a 4 for 4 performance at the plate, tripled with 2 out in the bottom of the seventh, but Cora Stodola popped out to end the game and The Indian’s season came to an end at 29 and 1.
Mauer pitched a complete game to improve to 11 and 6, while Kiran Sanford pitched a complete game and suffered her first loss of the season to finish with a record of 19 and 1.
Laconia wins their 10th straight to improve to 21 and 8 and will face Prescott for The Division Three Title Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m..
The Cardinals defeated Broadhead 4 to 1 in the other D-3 semifinal on Friday.
