Milwaukee Public School’s fiscal woes could get a lot worse.
The state’s Department of Public Instruction yesterday said MPS could lose between 35 and 50 million dollars by the time Milwaukee schools correct their late and incomplete financial reports.
Milwaukee Schools have already lost 17 million dollars in special education funding.
The report from DPI says MPS could lose so much because of “previous accounting errors.”
Milwaukee school leaders last night didn’t have any answers as to how the city’s schools plan to deal with the potential losses.
