The Miss Harbor Cities Scholarship Organization has announced that two local girls are set to compete in the Miss Wisconsin event.
Miss Harbor Cities, Jenna Watkins, and Miss Harbor Cities Teen, Katherine Vadney, will compete this weekend in Oshkosh.
Watkins will perform her jazz dance, “Sparkling Diamonds” from the musical Moulin Rouge.
She will also advocate for online safety and security.
As for Vadney, she will speak on early literacy in the digital age and perform a Ballet en Pointe from Paquita.
Watkins is a graduate of Waukesha Area Technical College, and Vadney is a Roncalli grad.
Other contestants from the area will be Allison Bender of Manitowoc, Violet Hanna Mertens of Green Bay, and Eliya Kurtzweil of Appleton.
The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading advocates for women’s education and the largest provider of scholarship assistance to women in the United States.
