The numbers are looking good for Manitowoc Public School District reading scores for the end of the year.
Superintendent Jim Feil said on the WCUB Breakfast Club that only 30% of students were reading at grade level, which needed to be higher.
Feil continues saying the district set a goal to try and get 15% of students in elementary and middle school up to grade level when the district implements the Success for All program or SFA.
At the end of the year, according to Feil, 17% of elementary students and 14% of middle school students have made it up to reading at grade level.
Feil calls it a great celebration.
He hopes that this will continue in the high school when the district tries to work to get their reading scores up as well.
