A 21-year-old Manitowoc man, involved in an altercation at a local restaurant late Monday afternoon, appeared for a bail hearing Tuesday afternoon in Manitowoc County Circuit Court.
Charges filed against Hector Miranda Sanchez include Disorderly Conduct, Resisting an Officer, and Threats to Law Enforcement.
Officers responded to a call at La Carretta on Calumet Avenue, where they learned that Sanchez was seen in The Pick N Save parking lot, having earlier been seen banging on a woman’s car, asking for money.
He admitted to drinking before the incident and had what was described as “visible injuries.”
While being transported to a local hospital, police say Sanchez became combative, refusing to comply with officers, adding he would “kill them” if his handcuffs were removed.
Those threats continued during his examination, after which he was taken into custody without further incident.
Sanchez is free on a $2,000 recognizance bond with the condition that he maintain “absolute sobriety.”
His initial court appearance is scheduled for July 8th at 1:30.
