Fire struck the Kiel Foundry Friday night. The Kiel Fire department reports they were called just before 7 p.m. for a structure fire. No injuries were reported. The fire originated in the ceiling of the building, but the cause is still being investigated. Eleven agencies assisted the Kiel Fire Department and the blaze was brought under control in about 30 minutes. No damage estimate is available at this time.
A citizen reported the fire alarms were sounding from outside the building and smoke was visible from the roof. The building had a working sprinkler system that assisted fire fighters in their efforts.
