
After 25 years of serving the City of Manitowoc, Officer Robert Block has retired.
His family joined his work family and Mayor Justin Nickels on Friday to celebrate his quarter century of service.
Officer Block joined the department on June 20th, 1999, and served on 3rd shift for the next 17 years. In 2016, he transitioned to 1st shift, where he stayed until his retirement.
The Manitowoc Police Department says Officer Block has been involved in many different aspects of the Department, including serving on Bicycle Patrol from 2003 to 2018, as a Field Training Officer from 2003 to 2019, as an Evidence Technician from 2005 until his retirement, and was a dedicated member of the PEER Support Team since 2015.
He was also named the Noon Rotary Officer of the Year in 2010.
