The SS Badger won’t be returning to Manitowoc today.
An announcement on Facebook from Lake Michigan Carferry says that the Badger is still in the port of Ludington while repairs are being made to the ship’s electrical system.
The electrical issue arose after the Badger left Manitowoc Saturday afternoon but was identified quickly so the ship could make it across the lake.
A second announcement earlier today says the 9 am sailing was cancelled as the electrical problem is continued to be fixed.
Lake Michigan Carferry says they apologize for the inconvenience but once the system is restored and operating properly, the SS Badger will resume its normal sailing schedule.
Lake Michigan Carferry didn’t give a specific time of when the coal-powered ship would be sailing again.
