A firefighter is recuperating from injuries sustained while battling a fire at the Surrey Ridge Apartment building in Janesville.
Fire Chief Ryan Murphy reported that the blaze broke out yesterday afternoon in the 23-unit complex.
A total of sixty firefighters responded, with no other injuries among the responders.
The fire caused approximately $1.5 million in property damage.
No civilians were hurt, but many residents are now displaced.
