American Legion Post 88 fell to Sheboygan last night 4-2.
The Manitowoc 19U baseball squad started out strong, plating 2 runs in the 1st inning, one off the bat of Eyan Dessellier and another due to Damien Gretz forcing a walk, but then the bats fell quiet.
Post 88 only had three hits on the day and committed 2 errors as Seth Gibeault allowed 3 runs in the 3rd inning and another in the 6th inning.
He did strike out five batters along the way as he went the full 6 innings.
Jonah Banton led the way for Sheboygan, knocking in a pair of runs with his lone hit, while Kayden Bruggink earned the win on the mound.
Post 88’s 19U team will have a couple of days off before they host Seymour on Sunday evening.
The 16U squad is back in action today, as they host a doubleheader against Pulaski, with game one beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Municipal Field.
The 17U team has one more day off before the start of the Marinette Tournament.
