Police are investigating a crash involving an SUV and a train in Green Bay yesterday (July 11th).
According to the Green Bay Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Ashland Avenue around 7:45 a.m., where they found an SUV was struck by the passing train.
The driver was said to have failed to yield to the locomotive and crossed onto the tracks.
The operator of the SUV was transported to a local hospital for what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
No crew members aboard the train suffered any injuries.
There were no fatalities, but the Green Bay Police Department is reminding drivers of the importance of railway safety because most crashes involving trains end in death or serious injury.
At this time, the crash is still under investigation.
