The 16U Manitowoc American Legion baseball team came from behind to earn a win over Pulaski yesterday.
Post 88 was down 4-3 entering the bottom of the 6th inning, when Drew Staudt, Brady Kienbaum, and Drew Holper all singled in runs, to give Manitowoc the lead for good.
Holper ended up with 2 hits on the day, while Cameron Shilts notched 3 hits, including a double and 1 RBI.
On the mound, Staudt earned the win, allowing just one hit over the final two innings while striking out four batters.
The day was initially scheduled to be a doubleheader, but the second game was canceled for an unknown reason.
The 16U squad’s next game is a Sunday contest at home against Seymour at 3:00 p.m. Immediately after that game, the 19U squad will also face Seymour.
Meanwhile, the 17U team will be in Marinette this weekend for a tournament.
Game one is this afternoon (July 12th) against Kimberly, while Saturday’s doubleheader will pit Post 88 against Marinette in the morning and the Green Bay Hornets in the evening.
