The first of four suspects in a 2022 Eau Claire murder case has entered a plea deal.
Michael Purnell agreed to a no-contest plea for the shooting death of Christopher Connell.
As part of the agreement, prosecutors dropped first-degree murder charges in exchange for new charges of being party to felony murder.
Investigators have identified Purnell as one of four individuals involved in the murder.
The remaining three suspects have yet to face trial or accept plea deals.
