There are four Manitowoc County governmental meetings scheduled for today (July 16th).
First up is the Traffic Safety Commission, which will gather at the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office at 10:00 this morning. They will continue their discussion regarding the proposed installation of a flashing pedestrian crossing sign at the intersection of County Road AA/Park Avenue and 1st Street in Kiel, along with safety concerns for the intersection of County Roads C and R.
Then, at 2:00 p.m., the Sexually Violent Persons Ad Hoc Committee will meet in the Courthouse. After electing a Chair and Vice Chair, the group will discuss the release of an individual under Chapter 980.
At 5:30 p.m., the Personnel Committee will meet in the Heritage Center at 5:30 p.m., where they will discuss hiring a new Emergency Dispatcher and the section of the employee policy manual that relates to performance evaluations.
Closing out the day is the Board of Supervisors, which will be in the Board Meeting Room at 6:00 p.m. The big item of conversation will be the proposed creation of a County sales tax to address the Human Services budget shortfall.
