Manitowoc County’s Congressman in Washington calls the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee “fantastic.”
6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman is attending the RNC and told Seehafer News that a miracle was witnessed when former President Donald Trump made his first appearance during Day 1 of the convention following an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
“For Donald Trump to survive this, to raise his hand and tell us to keep fighting will really be a boost to the campaign,” he said. “But above all, we can never forget for the rest of our lives how close this assassin came to killing the former president and probably the president to be.”
Ohio Senator JD Vance was also picked to be Trump’s VP if he wins the 2024 election. Grothman says he doesn’t know much about Vance, but from what he’s read, he seems like he understands the military and the immigration problem.
While at the RNC, Grothman says while he won’t speak on stage, he’s excited to meet people from all around the country.
“So wherever I go, I get to meet Republican activists,” he stated. “Again, I’m stressing, putting in their ear that we need to deal with this welfare mess because that is the heart of the moral breakdown we’re having in America right now.”
Trump is expected to speak tomorrow and accept his nomination as the Republican presidential candidate.
