A day to appreciate gardens and gardeners returns to Manitowoc this weekend.
The Garden Walk, presented by the Manitowoc County Master Gardeners is a day to see private gardens around Manitowoc that aren’t normally allowed to be seen.
Master Gardner Donna Firman said on the WCUB Breakfast Club that all types of gardens can been seen on the walk.
“From elaborate to humble and shade to sunny,” she explained. “All different kinds of different things. I particularly love it because people can take ideas home with them and implement them in their own garden.”
The first garden is the Bernard Garden on S. 34th Street followed by the Cavanaugh Garden on Springhill Drive.
The third garden is the Siewert Garden on Rapids Road along with the Erdmann Garden on N. 43rd Street.
The fifth garden is the Steinbrenner Garden on Tanglewood Rd. Lastly, the Greening Garden on Mailand Drive finishes the walk. Master Gardner Paula Synder says you can start in any order.
“So the way to find out which closest garden to you is to go to the Facebook page (Manitowoc County Master Gardeners), and find the addresses,” Snyder said.
Tickets are $12 for the Garden Walk, and gives you access to all six gardens.
The money goes toward funding the Master Gardeners. It runs from 9:00 to 4 pm.
