The new head coach of the Manitowoc United hockey team is excited to see how his players handle the jump to varsity play.
Jeff Gadzinski and the outgoing coach Mark Hinz were guests on the On the Line Podcast this week, where Mark had nothing but high praise for the man taking over his old position.
“He has been involved with the team since the start and has been a real positive force for the team,” he said.
“He’s going to do great. I’m very very happy to see him get the job.”
Jeff said when he got the news that he was selected for the position, he was filled with pure excitement.
“Hockey’s my biggest passion. It always has been,” he explained.
“Nothing is going to stop me from loving this sport, no matter how bad I’m getting my (butt) kicked.”
Jeff says the biggest thing he needs from his players, besides hard work and dedication, is to know what their role is on the team.
He said, “We are allowed 18 skaters on the varsity bench. I am going to need all 18 of them to know what their role is, and to execute it.”
