Local soybean producers are encouraged to vote in the Marketing Board Election, which is going on right now.
Steve Wilkens of Random Lake is looking to represent District 6, which covers Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha counties.
The DATCP mailed ballots to eligible soybean growers the week of July 8, 2024.
Growers who have not received a ballot can request one by contacting DATCP Market Orders Program staff at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov.
The election ends on August 15th, so producers are encouraged to get their votes in now.
Elected growers will serve three-year terms beginning September 1st.
