One Manitowoc American Legion team saw their season come to an end over the weekend, while another is still in the hunt for a trip to state.
The 17U squad was hosting their regional tournament, which started with a 10-7 loss to Kewaunee County Friday.
The weekend wasn’t over for Post 88 however, as it was a double elimination tournament.
Then, they went on a run, taking down Sheboygan 3-2, and avenging their loss to Kewaunee County with a 7-2 win, both on Saturday.
Post 88 then faced Reedsville Sunday, needing to win twice to advance to state.
They picked up a dominant 11-1 win in game one, but fell short in game two, falling 15-7.
Manitowoc’s season ends with a 16-8 record.
Meanwhile the 16U squad traveled to Seymour for their tournament.
They took down the host squad Friday 6-5 in an 8-inning matchup but fell to Neenah 18-14 Saturday.
With their backs against the wall, Post 88 took down Fond du Lac 10-5 Sunday and kept their season alive.
Post 88 will be back in action today, as they take on Kaukauna with the winner advancing to tomorrow’s championship round.
Also still alive are Kimberly and Neenah. Kimberly suffered one loss as well, while Neenah remains unbeaten in the regional tournament.
