A home in Kaukauna caught fire yesterday afternoon (July 23rd).
According to the Kaukauna Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the 300 block of Park Street just before 1:45 p.m., where they found smoke coming through a window on the west side of the home.
The residents’ smoke alarms had alerted them to the fire, so everyone was able to get out safely.
Within four minutes of arrival, crews had the flames doused with no injuries reported. The cause of the fire was believed to have been electrical, with a damage cost estimate of $65,000.
The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowners and their 5 children, while the Little Chute Fire Department, Kaukauna Police Department, Kaukauna Utilities, and We Energies all assisted on the scene.
