A Listeria outbreak has hit the East Coast and Midwest, with one reported case in Wisconsin.
While one lone case in Wisconsin may seem minor, two deaths in the US have occurred due to the Listeria outbreak.
Many people are reporting they came down with the infection after eating meat that had been sliced at deli counters.
Listeria is a serious infection that, according to the CDC, kills about 260 Americans every year.
Listeria is especially harmful to those who are pregnant, aged 65 or older, or have a weakened immune system.
The CDC also advises against eating meat sliced at a deli for the time being and only if it has been heated to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
This kills the bacteria that causes the nasty infection.
Illinois, Minnesota, and Missouri are other Midwest states with confirmed cases of Listeria.
