The man who was behind the wheel of a vehicle that killed one an injured another has been sentenced.
Online court records show that 57-year-old Brian Sippel was ordered to spend 28 years in prison, followed by 15 years on extended supervision by Judge Tricia Walker.
He was previously found guilty due to a no-contest plea on charges of Homicide by Use of a Vehicle with a Prohibited Alcohol Content and Injury by Use of a Vehicle with a Prohibited Alcohol Content, while five other charges were dismissed but read into the record.
Several members of the victim’s family spoke at the sentencing hearing, including the victim’s wife, while Sippel’s daughter, son, and ex-wife all also spoke.
The incident occurred on January 14th, 2023, at the intersection of Highway 151 and I-41.
