The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of D’Vontaye Mitchell outside the downtown Hyatt as a homicide caused by restraint asphyxia.
The ME’s office released Mitchell’s autopsy yesterday, revealing he died after being restrained by four private security guards in late June.
The confrontation occurred after Mitchell locked himself in a hotel lobby bathroom and refused to leave.
Mitchell’s family is calling for murder charges, and all four security officers have been fired.
Milwaukee Police have also recommended murder charges, though the full autopsy has not yet been made public.
