A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he led police on a high-speed chase.
An officer was sitting on Chiefs Way in the early evening hours Sunday, observing traffic on South 21st Street when they saw a vehicle traveling at an estimated speed of 60 miles per hour.
The officer took chase, and saw the vehicle continue to speed as it ran a red light at the intersection with Waldo Boulevard.
The chase continued to the intersection with Menasha Avenue, where the car again failed to stop for a stop sign.
The chase came to an end when the car bottomed out while going over the nearby railroad tracks, causing it to spin out.
The driver exited the vehicle and gave himself up without further incident.
The 19-year-old man was arrested on a charge of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety while also being cited for Violating a Red Traffic Light, Operating Without Insurance, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, Non-Registration of Auto, and Possession of THC.
