A man accused of attempting to rob a gas station in Racine using an axe has been sentenced to time served.
63-year-old William Nelson entered a no-contest plea to four charges as part of a plea agreement.
Prosecutors presented surveillance footage showing Nelson at the gas station counter wielding an axe, with a car registered to him present at the scene.
Nelson’s criminal record dates back to 1981 and includes prior burglary convictions.
