A 19-year-old Manitowoc man has been officially charged after leading police on a high-speed chase through the city last weekend.
Parker J. Preston is charged with Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety along with multiple traffic violations.
They include Violating a Red Traffic Light, Operating Without Insurance, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, Non-Registration of Automobile, and Possession of THC.
Preston was operating a vehicle traveling an estimated 60 miles per hour in a residential area near Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital when an officer took chase.
Preston ran a red light at The Waldo Boulevard intersection and failed to stop at a stop sign at Menasha Avenue before he finally came to a stop when his car bottomed out, going over some railroad tracks, resulting in his vehicle spinning out.
Preston surrendered without further incident, and no one was hurt. He is free on $250 cash bail with the lone condition being that he does not operate any motorized vehicle.
An initial appearance is scheduled for August 12th at 1:30.
