The man who was able to escape captivity in Chicago’s O’Hare Airport has been sentenced.
WBAY TV reports that Tyler Martinez of Green Bay was ordered to spend 12 years in prison after his cross-country crime spree in 2022.
He was being transported back to Brown County when he was able to escape the custody of the REDI Transports and fled the airport with his handcuffs still on.
He was caught several days later in Georgia.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office blamed REDI Transports for the incident, saying they were not following company policy and procedure during the move.
