A Green Bay woman has been convicted in an arson case.
40-year-old Sara Martinez was found guilty due to no contest pleas on charges of Arson of a Building without the Owners Consent and Negligent Handling of Burning Material, the only charges she was facing.
With the conviction, Martinez was ordered to spend 15 months in prison, followed by just under four years on extended supervision.
WFRV TV reports that Martinez was arrested for her role in a fire at an apartment complex on Eastman Avenue in 2023.
The responding officers noted that Martinez appeared intoxicated that night when she admitted to starting a bag on fire inside the structure.
The damage was minimal, estimated to be around $5,000 worth.
