Firefighters responded to a house fire on Madison’s north side Saturday afternoon (August 10th) , where they successfully rescued two cats.
The fire, which originated in the basement of a home on the 1800 block of Elka Lane, caused an estimated $50,000 in damage, according to Madison Fire Department officials.
No one was home at the time, and the cats were unharmed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
